Porsche 718 Boxster hits 2016 New York Auto Show

Porsche 718 Boxster has just made its North American premiere, at the 2016 New York Auto Show, following its world debut in Geneva earlier this month.
Named after Porsche's four-pot mid-engined racing machines from the 1950s and 1960s, the 718 Boxster ushers in a four-cylinder turbo'd boxer engine era for the series.

The new unit is available in two versions, a 2.0-liter with 300 PS (296 HP) for the base 718 Boxster, and a 2.5-liter with 350 PS (345 HP) for the "S". In both cases, a 6-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels, but for an extra $3,200, over its entry-level MSRP of $56,000, Porsche will throw in the 7-speed PDK, which will slash 0.2 seconds from zero to sixty.
