Official: 2016 Porsche Macan
Porsche recently revealed details of their 2016 Porsche Macan. The German manufacturer will expand the range with a new entry-level Macan fitted with the four-cylinder turbo engine recently featured within the Porsche 718 Boxster.
The entry-level Porsche Macan will get the 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine which features a turbocharger with two bar of boost pressure, charge-air cooling, direct injection and variable valve timing. Power is said to be 252 hp from 5,000 to 6,800 rpm with torque of 370 Nm available between 1,600 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The Porsche also gets a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
With the optional Sport Chromo-Package, the Macan accelerates from 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds, without it manages 6.7 seconds. Top speed is 229 km/h while the Macan manages 7.4 l/100 km or 7.2 l/100 km economy figures. The Porsche Traction Management PTM active all-wheel drive system is coupled with a air suspension system with levelling control including the PASM with adaptive dampers available as an option. It weighs in, unladen weight at 1.770 kilograms.
The entry-level Porsche Macan gets extensive standard equipment too. Exterior side window trim strips are finished in black trim with black brake callipers for the 18-inch wheels and an exhaust system with two single brushed stainless steel tailpipes. The Macan has comfort seats with electric eight-way adjustment on the driver’s side, Alcantara middle seat panels and the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) as well as a lane-departure warning system and a powered tailgate.
The 2016 Porsche Macan is now available to order and starts at 55.669 Euro in Germany including taxes and market-specific equipment. The market launch will take place in June 2016. We’re also told that the Cayenne will gain the new Porsche Communication Management system (PCM) with its high-resolution seven-inch touchscreen.
